Born on October 26, 1954 in Highland Park, Illinois, Donald Warren "D.W." Moffett was educated at Stanford University, where he majored in political science. He then flew to Chicago to work as an investment banker. On a whim, he went with a friend to the St. Nicholas Theater Company and studied with William H. Macy. Discovering his passion for acting, Moffett later started his own company, Remains Theater. His long and successful stage career in Chicago led him to star in Larry Kramer's The Normal Heart, for which he gained critical acclaim. He also appeared on Boys of Winter with Matt Dillon and The Philadelphia Story with Kevin Spacey. In 2007, cast for two CW shows,

Danny Clarke of CW's Life is Wild is played by
D.W. Moffett . Danny is a successful veterinarian who recently got married to the divorced mother of two, Jo. Danny, whose wife Claire had recently passed away, has two children of his own, the smart Katie and her brother, Chase. Upon learning about the urgent need of veterinarians in South Africa, Danny decides to bring his whole family to a broken-down lodge in The Blue Antelope to live there for a year. This fresh new start for the family may or may not prove beneficial, as Life is Wild follows the drama, healing and rediscovery of a troubled family in completely different world.
