Halloween is coming early next year as the horror flick
The Caretaker is set to be released on February 14. Fans of The CW's
Life is Wild will want to catch this production, as series actor
Andrew St. John appears in it as a thrill-seeking teen named Topher.
“It's a little horror flick,” St. John, who plays Jesse Weller on
Life is Wild, said of his upcoming movie in an interview with cwsource.tv. “But it's rated well for all ages. I think we're coming in at PG-13. It's nothing really gory. It's the fun, popcorn, go-to-the-movies-see-a-little-scare [type of film.]”
The Caretaker revolves around a group of teenage boys who attempt to give their girlfriends a good scare on Halloween/Homecoming head by heading to an abandoned house in a distant grapefruit orchard. There, the boys reveal the story of a real-life urban legend involving a caretaker.
Oscar-nominated actress Jennifer Tilly plays Miss Perry, a teacher obsessed with getting famous by sleeping with a student, while
The Breakfast Club star Judd Nelson plays an overprotective father. Jonathan Breck (
Jeepers Creepers) also stars, playing the crazed Limo Driver.
As for the younger cast members, Andrew St. John is joined onscreen by Kita Verrastro (
Days of our Lives) as Ella, James Immekus (
Bones, Charmed, House) as Snail, Diego J. Torres (
Justice, Conviction) as Ricky, Victoria Vande Vegte as Chloe, and Jennifer Freeman as (
My Wife and Kids) as Sonya.
The Caretaker was written by Jackie Olson and directed by Bryce Olson (Be My Baby). Jim Lang (John Carpenter's
Mouth of Madness, Body Bags) provided an original score that is “sure to make you jump out of your seat.”
This is not the first film project for the
Life is Wild star. His previous movie credits include the 2005 drama,
Hometown. As for his television work, he guest-starred in several well-known series, including
Vanished, Criminal Minds, CSI: Miami, What I Like About You and
General Hospital.
