A legend is burning out at some point on Legends of Tomorrow season 3. Deadline has broken the news that Victor Garber (AKA Dr. Martin Stein/Firestorm) will be leaving during the upcoming season. What does this mean for Jax and the future of Firestorm? Will this be a decision to leave, or will it be an unexpected death?

Garber's future on the show was called into question when it was announced that he would be joining the Broadway revival of Hello Dolly!, succeeding David Hyde Pierce. His first performance is set for Jan. 20.

Will Stein and Jax Go in Separate Directions in Legends Season 3?>>>

What does this mean for Firestorm? There are several options, but more than likely a death seems inevitable. During the upcoming four-way crossover between Supergirl, Arrow, The Flash and Legends, it's been teased that there will be a death, and what better way to write off Firestorm than a heroic death?

Without Stein, it's unlikely that Jax can remain on the series. Whether it's by death or not, these two have to remain together. As we saw on The Flash in the early seasons, Stein couldn't live on after Ronnie died because their abilities were bringing him close to death. Without Stein, the same would happen to Jax.

If that happens, are they really going to find another half of Firestorm? It'd just be like repeating another story, and it'd be overkill. Getting rid of Firestorm and introducing a new hero altogether would be for the best.

Apparently, according to the article on Deadline, Garber's exit has been thought out far ahead of time, so whatever happens, it won't be unexpected. The season premiere of Legends showed Stein with a grandchild on the way, so it's entirely possible that he and Jax would leave the Waverider to return to present day Central City and continue on with their lives.

Whatever the case, Legends is certainly losing a legend of its own. Will you miss Stein on the series? Leave your thoughts in the comments below!
