NBC's
Law & Order: SVU recently returned to airwaves with its tenth season, which brought about brilliant performances by guest stars Sara Gilbert and Luke Perry. Moreover, the show brings back stars
Christopher Meloni as Detective Elliot Stabler,
Mariska Hargitay as Detective Olivia Benson,
Dann Florek as Captain Donald Cragen,
Richard Belzer as Detective John Munich,
Ice-T as Detective Odafin,
Diane Neal as A.D.A. Casey Novak and
B.D. Wong as Dr. George Huang.
Tonight on Episode 10.2 titled “Swing,” fans will get to see Stabler take a call from someone asking for help to catch a trespasser. Things get complicated when he discovers the clues that lead him to a shocking discovery—his daughter Kathleen (Allison Siko) might just be part of it. Moreover, he reaches out to his estranged mother (Ellen Burstyn) to help him save his troubled daughter.
Meanwhile, Richard Belzer, who plays Detective John Munich in the ten season-old police drama, recently released his first suspense novel titled
I Am Not a Cop! The 64-year-old actor, writer and comedian serves as the narrator in the murder mystery offering, in which he says, “I am not a cop. Really. I've just been playing one on television so long that people get a little confused sometimes.”
The novel is co-written by Michael Black, an author and former SWAT team leader in Chicago with a black belt in taekwondo. The book revolves around a man who goes up against the Russian Mafia, who sets their eyes on capturing Ukraine.
Belzer describes the endeavor to be a “reality novel,” saying that “For years I've been fascinated by the intersection of celebrities and reality…[The novel is] fiction based on my life. It uses the reality of my job and how people react to me and imagines what if I got mixed up in trying to solve a real crime… What I did was use my own name, but fictionalize my life. “
As for his role on Law & Order: SVU, Belzer says, “[Munch]'s the court jester who breaks the tension at macabre crime scenes.”
Catch more of Richard Belzer on tonight's
Law & Order: SVU at 10pm on NBC.
