Previously on Law & Order: SVU: Detective Chester Lake (Adam Beach) and ADA Casey Novak (Diane Neal) were fired, paving the way for more cast changes in the rotating world of personal in the Law & Order franchise.

The big change for the 10th season of the highly successful spin-off is the addition of Michaela McManus as ADA Kim Grayleck, the fourth actress to fill that position on the series.  McManus is best known for her role last season as Lindsey, Lucas' fiancée on the CW's One Tree Hill.  Though that show ended with a cliffhanger regarding who Lucas called and asked to marry him in Las Vegas, McManus' new series regular role would seem to indicate her time on One Tree Hill will be short.

Fans will also be able to expect plenty of well-known guest stars entering the scene every week.  The season premiere will feature Barbara Streishand's husband James Brolin.  A later episode will feature Josh Charles (In Treatment) and Teri Polo (The West Wing) as a married couple.  This reunion will please fans of Aaron Sorkin's first TV series, Sports Might, in which Charles and Polo also played a couple.  Finally, Oscar winner Ellen Burstyn will show up as Elliot Stabler's bipolar mother.  Burstyn received an Emmy nomination this year for her portrayal of Jeanne Tripplehorn's mother on HBO's Big Love.
