Aside from his heroic role on Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, Dean Cain also gained fame for his role on Las Vegas as Casey Manning. He depicted a shrewd and cunning businessman and was the former owner of the Montecito Hotel and Casino, as well as Sam’s ex-husband. In the episode entitled “Bare Chested in the Park,” his character was killed off in a fishing accident when a giant squid engulfed him off the coast of New Zealand. However, the autopsy revealed that his blood had traces of botulinum toxin, which hinted that he was poisoned before the accident happened.

After his departure on Las Vegas, Cain landed roles on TV movies and films like A Christmas Wedding, Dead & Deader, Crossroads: A Story of Forgiveness and Max Havoc: Ring of Fire.

Cain has recently completed the horror film Urban Decay, in which he plays the character Stan. Directed by Harry Basil, the film also stars Meat Loaf and Brooke Burns. Currently, he is filming the movie Ace of Hearts, a family drama that features Cain as the character Glenn Mackenzie. On television, the 40-year old actor also has several projects lined up. He stars on Protect and Serve, a drama pilot in which he stars as Mike Borelli, and on thriller Hidden Camera as Dan Kovacs, which also includes Lucia Jimenez and Arnold Vosloo. Furthermore, he has an upcoming miniseries entitled Final Approach, an action thriller about a former FBI negotiator and his quest to save Los Angeles from terrorists, which will premiere on April 6, 2008. Other cast members include Anthony Michael Hall, Lea Thompson, and William Forsythe.
