Tom Selleck is a producer, screenwriter and actor who was born on January 29, 1945 in Detroit, Michigan. He has won both an Emmy Award and a Golden Globe Award for his extensive acting career, as well as receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame during the 80s. Selleck is of Scottish and Ukrainian heritage, and his family moved to Sherman Oaks when he was younger. He studied at the University of Southern California while on a basketball scholarship, and also pursued some modeling work on the side. He became known for his role in the television series Magnum, P.I., as well as acting in a number of feature films.
Jim Cooper is portrayed by Tom Selleck in the NBC network’s dramatic comedy television series Las Vegas. He took over as the new owner of the Montecito Resort and Casino, and replaced former owner Ed Deline. Cooper has been described as a self-made billionaire with a wealth of confidence and strong charisma, as well as being shrouded in an aura of mystery.
