Talan Torriero of MTV's Laguna BeachTalan Torriero, a former Laguna Beach cast member, is appearing on two films set to be released next year.  One is a drama based on a true story, while the other is a horror-comedy featuring well-known genre film actor Robert Englund.

The drama film, entitled Street, stars Vivica A. Fox (Kill Bill: Vol.1, Curb Your Enthusiasm), Rachel Miner (Californication), Toby Hemingway (Bones) and Laura Ramsey (The Days, Lords of Dogtown).  Fox will play a woman who helps and mentors Lexi (Ramsey), a young girl with a troubled mother, a criminal father and a loving sister (Miner).  Lexi runs away with her boyfriend, but when he starts abusing her, finds shelter and love with a drug-addicted street teen (Hemingway).  The boy teaches her how to survive in a tough Portland, Oregon neighborhood.

Talan Torriero, who appeared on the first two seasons of Laguna Beach, will play Kurt in the film.

Street is written and directed by York Shackleton, who acted in such films as I Know What You Did Last Winter and gained fame as a professional snowboarder.  The story is based on the life of Kristen Jensen, who is co-producing.

Meanwhile, 2001 Maniacs: Beverly Hellbillys, a horror-comedy sequel from Bloodworks, stars Robert Englund as George W. Buckman, mayor of Pleasant Valley, a small town filled with residents seeking revenge for their massacre at the hands of Union troops, killing Spring Break vacationers in the process.  The sequel has the townspeople relocating to the West after a new highway destroys their infamous detour.

Other cast members include Lin Shaye (There's Something About Mary), Giuseppe Andrews (Detroit Rock City, Boston Public) and Adam Rifkin (Bone Chillers).  Talan Torriero will be playing the role of Falcon.

While both films won't be coming out until next year, fans of Torriero can catch him on two other movie productions that are scheduled for release this year.  Bar Starz, wherein Torriero plays Lenny Botz, is a comedy that follows the adventures of some club denizens, while American High School, wherein he plays Holden Adams, is a romantic comedy that centers on a married senior high school couple.  The latter also stars Alex Murrel, another Laguna Beach alum.
