Well, well, following last week's report that Pixie has flown the
LA Ink/High Voltage coop, now comes another stunning turn of events. The latest headline-making story out of
LA Ink's turf is that
Kat Von D and her erstwhile love, Alex “Orbi” Orbison are no more.
Yes, wasn't it just a few weeks back when Kat herself wrote about her experience tattooing a portrait of Orbi's legendary father, Roy Orbison? I seem to recall having seen a post about that on her MySpace blog, which mysteriously disappeared a couple of weeks ago. Now I guess we know why.

Early last month, we mentioned that the
LA Ink episode entitled “Novelty Girls” was partly about that specific ink job Kat did on her then boyfriend. In the same article, we also wrote that Motley Crue bassist Nikki Sixx was looking forward to getting his own artwork done by
LA Ink's resident tattoo goddess. We even quoted his update on Roadrunner Records' Blabbermouth.net saying “Kat's gonna do one probably this weekend. I've been wanting to get 'Los Angeles' tattooed on me for ages, and then the other day I noticed Kat has it on her left shoulder. We both have had so much happen in our lives in this city, why not make it permanent?”
It turns out that maybe Sixx was talking about more than getting Los Angeles written on him. According to reports and Kat Von D's very own admission via her MySpace blog, the Motley Crue band member is now the
LA Ink mistress' new flame.
“I apologize for the mass confusion that the end of my relationship with Orbi has caused,” Kat wrote on her MySpace post. “We broke up a while ago, and definitely before Nikki and I started dating. I know it's hard to understand these things when the episodes [of
LA Ink] that have been airing recently, have scenes with Orbi and I, before we mutually decided best for us to part as a couple.”
“Nikki's been my friend before I met Orbi, remained that way during our relationship, and didn't unexpectedly turn into something more, until after Orbi and I had already split,” Kat wrote on. “I am truly happy with Nikki, and the feeling's mutual. Nothing feels more amazing then making a connection so deep with someone who understands you, inspires you, supports you, and truly loves you AND what you do.”
Of course, that's HER side of the story. Orbi's is, as you may imagine, somewhat different, and we'll bring you excerpts of what HE had to say, next week.
