Tonight, one of World Wrestling Entertainment's (WWE) Divas will drop in to get her very first tattoo on TLC's
LA Ink. Candice Michelle, currently sidelined by an injury, is getting inked ahead of her anticipated return to WWE some time next month.
In other news, the man behind both
LA Ink and its predecessor,
Miami Ink, will be among those attending the Sundance Film Festival for the world premiere of his latest film project.
Not many people are familiar with the name Charlie Corwin. Despite his relative anonymity however, the 35-year old Corwin is, in fact, a prolific Hollywood producer for both television and film.
Long-time friend, Ben Silverman, co-chairman of NBC Entertainment, says "Charlie is passionate and committed. He loves film and TV and has great taste. That is a perfect combination. Talent also enjoys Charlie, as he is very supportive and always about getting things done."
Under his Original Media outfit, Corwin produces three of Discovery Channel's programs -
Storm Chasers,
LA Ink and
Miami Ink. On the big screen, Corwin's production company has churned out films such as
Half Nelson,
The Squid and the Whale, and
A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints. All three movies have either been nominated in, if not won, prestigious awards like the Independent Spirit, Academy, Sundance and Golden Globes.
August, Corwin's fourth motion picture, hopes to carry on the tradition, with its take on the beginnings of the dot-com revolution in pre 9-11 New York.
Because of Corwin's impressive track record with his Original Media productions, Endemol, the Dutch studio responsible for reality shows like
Deal or No Deal and
Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, has invested $50 million for a controlling interest in Original Media. It has also retained an option to acquire full control of the company in the near future.
