Kyle XY star
April Matson can catch the actress on both the small and big screens, as she is will appear in the upcoming film,
Black Russian.
Written, directed and executive-produced by Danny Naten and Jerry Katz,
Black Russian is a “satirical look at the American dream gone bad.” The story revolves around Nick Anderson, a writer who meets a Russian mobster named Ivan the Terrible in prison. The two men agree that Anderson should write Ivan's biography, but in the process of writing and publishing the book, they betray each other's trust, causing events that lead to path riddled with vengeance, torture and murder.
The film is based on a book of the same name.
Aside from April Matson, who appears in the movie as Sunny, the cast of
Black Russian also includes Naten as Nick Anderson, Samantha Kaye (
Doctor Doctor) as Stacey Anderson, Luke Primeau as Jackie, Lloyd Sherr (
W.I.T.C.H.) as Ivan, Katz as
Joey, Vince Lozano (
Charmed, Dragnet) as Leo, Alex D' Lerma as Johnny Gonzales, Andrew Benne (

Black Russian was produced by Bandana Pictures, and is currently in the post-production phase. It is scheduled for release in March 2008. Fans, however, can catch April Matson onscreen much sooner than that.
On Monday, January 14, ABC Family will begin airing the second block of
Kyle XY's second season. The last aired episode, “Leap of Faith,” ended with a cliffhanger, with Jessi (
Jaimie Alexander) taking a spectacular leap into the river.
On
Kyle XY, Matson plays Lori, the incredibly perceptive teenage daughter of Stephen (
Bruce Thomas) and Nicole Trager (
Marguerite MacIntyre).
According to TV Guide, when the show returns next year, Kyle (
Matt Dallas) will finally reveal the truth of his test tube origins to the Trager family. Together, they will go after Madacorp, the company trying to control Kyle and Jessi. Also, viewers will find out what happened to Jessi.
