The horror site, www.dreadcentral.com, has given the upcoming film,
Babysitter Wanted, a positive review. This is only one of the several glowing reviews the film has received, with actor
Bruce Thomas, who plays Stephen Trager on
Kyle XY, being lauded for his performance on the new horror/thriller.
"What I will tell you about
Babysitter Wanted, however, is that it most likely will not go where you think it's going, it's smart and has some great performances,” the website states. “The dad, played by Bruce Thomas, especially does a great job with the role he's given which at first doesn't seem like much but you'll soon realize is a lot meatier than expected."
The film, which tells the story of a young college student who gets terrorized by a mysterious man while babysitting in a rural area, is directed by Michael Manasseri and Jonas Barnes. Both directors have also been commended for their work on the film.
"These great reviews are really testaments to the talent of the film's directors," stated Kimberley Kates, Big Screen Entertaiment Group (BSEG) CEO, said. BSEG is the production company behind
Babysitter Wanted and other big screen projects such as
Forget About it and
Dirty Love.
Also included in the cast are Sarah Thompson (
7th Heaven), Kristen Dalton (
The Departed), Monty Bane (
Sleepwalkers) and Bill Moseley (
The Devil's Rejects).
Matt Dallas, who co-stars with Bruce Thomas on
Kyle XY, appears in the film as well.
On
Kyle XY, which airs on ABC Family, Dallas plays Kyle, a teenager who wakes up in the middle of the forest with no recollection of his past. Bruce Thomas' character is married to a therapist named Nicole (Marguerite McIntyre), who decides to place Kyle in her own care by bringing him home. The series is thus propelled by Kyle and the Trager family's search for the truth about Kyle's identity.
Babysitter Wanted is still awaiting release, with Lionsgate poised to lead the domestic distribution of the film.
