Fourteen-year-old Sophia from Winter Park, Florida enjoys History, French, and Literature class and is contemplating on pursuing a career in the culinary arts. She believes that the world's biggest problem is global warming and that George W. Bush has contributed greatly to America's current downfall. Sophia listens to Broadway, classical and jazz music, and favors David Bowie. She also likes to watch Mel Brooks and Gene Wilder perform.

Sophia is one of 40 kids aged 8 to 15 on CBS' reality show, Kid Nation. The show is set in the barren Bonanza City, New Mexico, where they are to make the town come alive with their kids-only community. The show will also feature them engaging in games and working for living, while others will become leaders of the small community. Each episode will end with a town meeting where they will discuss issues and award a worthy kid with a gold star worth $20,000.
