Aspiring entertainer Markelle is 12 years old and hails from Marietta, Georgia. A member of a theater club, he aspires to perform on Broadway when he grows up. He admires world leaders Martin Luther King and Colin Powell, and stars such as Sidney Porter, Denzel Washington and Sammy Davis Jr. Markelle believes that Clinton did a good job as the President of the United States and that Bush has ruined the United States' relationship with numerous countries across the globe.

Markelle is one of 40 kids to participate in CBS'
Kid Nation, which sends them to barren Bonanza City, New Mexico. They are to establish their community there as a society composed of 8 to fifteen-year-olds, and will be engaging in games to determine their social status. The community will also engage in governance, ruling system and a small economy which requires them to work just like adults do.
