'Keeping Up with the Kardashians' Recap: Love Means Nothing in Tennis
'Keeping Up with the Kardashians' Recap: Love Means Nothing in Tennis
Not even Kris' semi-erotic grunting can save this episode from being a letdown. Keeping Up with the Kardashians is feeling directionless right now, focusing on petty spats instead of the shocking events every preview promises.

MA Noises On a TV-14 Show

Fun party trick: listen to, but don't watch, the intro with Kris playing tennis. Presto! You suddenly feel extremely awkward. Kris releases X-rated grunts with every swing, and Kim sees the perfect opportunity to embarrass her dear mother. She sets up a family tennis tournament while cackling to herself like an evil genius.

Meanwhile, Kourtney's feeling down about her relationship. She and Scott's passion for each other starts waning, and she's yearning for romance exemplified in movies like Titanic: love so strong it causes tragedy. Scott tries getting spray-on tans and fake abs to spice things up, but Kourtney's not impressed. Maybe he should paint her like one of his French girls.

Kris Really Hates Everything

In an unexpected twist, Bruce and Kris argue. He wants to piggyback his son Brandon's music career onto Kris' entertainment business venture. She's apprehensive initially, not wanting to complicate her and Brandon's relationship. Eventually, she agrees to give it a shot.

At the inaugural Kardashian Open Tennis Tournament, everyone maturely realizes people make weird noises while exercising and it's nothing to make fun of. Just kidding! They unleash a barrage of sass until Kris storms off the court, vowing never to play tennis again.

How Scotty Got His Groove Back

Over a romantic dinner and flowers, Kourtney finally feels like Scott has his mojo back. Hmmm, maybe it's because that spray tan just is something for his appearance, while the dinner is something Scott did for Kourtney.

Kim also makes amends by buying Kris Chanel tennis balls and a new racket. For all the complaining Kim does about her mom buying her affection with gifts, she's not above doing the same thing.

When Kris approaches Brandon with this opportunity, he feels the same way Kris does. They agree to focus on family before business, and Bruce accepts their reasons amicably.

This season of Keeping Up with the Kardashians continues to disappoint. Every Sunday, I hope something substantial will happen, but they continue rehashing the same "argue then make up" formula. Do you think the series will pick up or continue to stagnate? Comment and let us know!
