'Keeping Up with the Kardashians' Gets Third Season
Fans of the Kardashian family can expect more of their adventures, as E! Entertainment Television has renewed Keeping Up with the Kardashians for a third season.

The reality series, which is co-produced by Ryan Seacrest Productions and Bunim-Murray Productions, has been at the top of the ratings in its Sunday night time slot.  Its May 4 episode, which followed the family to a ski vacation in Colorado, was the most-watched of the series, getting around 1.7 million viewers.

“E! viewers have embraced the Kardashian family, and the series has become one of television's most talked-about shows,” E! executive VP of original programming and series development Lisa Berger said in a statement announcing the renewal.  “[The producers] have an exceptional ability to capture the Kardashians' hilarious, chaotic and always entertaining personalities and family dynamics.  There is never a shortage of drama and we are certain the new season will be another wild ride.”

Perhaps the “wild ride” she is referring to includes youngest daughter Khloe Kardashian's jail stint.  If you can recall, the younger sister of Kim Kardashian was sentenced to 30 days in jail for violating the terms of her probation, which in turn was caused by a DUI violation incurred in March 2007.  Kim announced earlier the Khloe will be turning herself in within this week to serve her sentence.  A source from the network, however, told OK! magazine that the entire jail term will be taped and aired in an episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians.

It will make for “great TV,” the source said.  “It makes sense for them to keep quiet and let everyone tune in.  Some wonder if she broke probation in purpose.”

The new season of Keeping Up with the Kardashians is expected to start airing anytime in the first quarter of 2009.
