Looks like Kim Kardashian
, socialite and star of the reality show, Keeping Up with the Kardashians
, is not too shy about offering up her opinion on most anything under the Hollywood sun – unless it happens to be about her own misadventures. The Keeping Up with the Kardashians
co-star told Showbiz Spy last week that she is itching to give troubled pop star Britney Spears a makeover to get her back to her former glory.
However, when Kim and her step dad, former Olympic great Bruce Jenner
, appeared on ABC's The View
on Thursday, neither one of the Keeping Up with the Kardashians
stars could muster anything brilliant to say to Barbara Walters
' pointedly direct questions.
“I would love, love, love to give Britney Spears a makeover. I think everyone wants to give her a makeover. But I think that she is so cute and sweet and has a great style, but it's all fallen apart and it's a mess now. I would love to bring her back to where she used to be.”
Those were Kim Kardashian's unabashed remarks to Showbiz Spy about Britney Spears, who is slated to star in the popular CBS sitcom, How I Met Your Mother
, later this month. When it came time for her to take the microphone and respond to an inquiry about herself though, there simply were, no words.
On Thursday's edition of The View
, Barbara Walters asked Kim, "Why are you famous? What have you done? What do you do with your life?"
Now, when you're up for a round with Ms. Walters, questions like those shouldn't come as a surprise from the veteran broadcast journalist. Not for the star of Keeping Up with the Kardashians
though. Either that, or Ms. Walters hit a sore spot that no preparation could have provided the reality star with a ready answer to. In any case, Kim Kardashian managed to mumble something about hanging out with famous people as her friends, to which, Barbara Walters named Paris Hilton.
As if that wasn't awkward enough for the socialite, Walters then brought up Kim's controversial sex tape. At this point, stepfather Bruce made a pitch to try and salvage the situation but to no avail. For her part, Kim remarked that she has learned from her past mistakes.
