Following President Barack Obama's comments
about the lavish lifestyle of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, and how they are negatively affecting the youth today, Kardashian matriarch Kris Jenner decided to break her silence and fire back on the President on Friday's episode of her talk show.
In his interview with Amazon.com, Obama cited the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star and her rapper boyfriend as he criticized the rise of reality TV programs and celebrities who flaunt their wealth for changing the aspirations of the youth. "I think, there has also been a shift in culture. We weren't exposed to the things we didn't have in the same way that kids these days are... There was not that window into the lifestyles of the rich and famous. Kids weren't monitoring every day what Kim Kardashian was wearing, or where Kanye West was going on vacation, and thinking that somehow that was the mark of success,'' the President said.
Kris Jenner, however, did not take this well. "It's really great that people aspire to get a great job ... but I wasn't aware that you could only set the bar so high and that we could only dream so big," Jenner said on her show. "I was taught: Dream big, work hard and you could have whatever you wanted."
"I bet the President has some friends with 10,000 square foot houses and that he wouldn't mind going over there... when [he was] asking them to have a party for [him] while [he was] campaigning for dollars to run for president," Kris added. "I find it so odd that he's picking on Kim Kardashian and Kanye West. Well, Kanye West, first of all, doesn't go on vacation. Ever. And Kim Kardashian is the hardest-working young lady in the world. She never sleeps, she never stops, she never slows down and works so hard for what she's got."
In other news, it sounds like Kim and Kanye won't be selling the first photos of their baby North West, based on the rumors circulating around the Internet these days. While the demand for the photos are very high, TMZ
reports that they are no longer interested in debuting their child on the cover of a magazine and giving the proceeds to charity. Some sources even reveal that the couple might just opt for a spread in an upscale magazine or just follow the footsteps of Jay Z and Beyonce, who posted the photo of their child on social network.
