K-Ville (an abbreviation for 'Katrinaville') follows two cops as they do their best to police New Orleans in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.  The show was created by executive producer Jonathan Lisco and stars Anthony Anderson (Hustle and Flow) and Cole Hauser (ER) as the two main characters, cops who have differing ideas on how to deal with the city in Katrina's aftermath.  Anderson plays Marlin Boulet and Hauser plays Trevor Cobb.

K-Ville received exclusive access to New Orleans Police Department logos and uniforms.  They shot the pilot in and around New Orleans in March and April of 2007 and quickly received a 13-episode order from FOX.  The show, in turn, shows in good light the work that the men and women of New Orleans accomplished after the horrifying experience that was Hurricane Katrina.

In an odd publicity move by FOX, the entire K-Ville pilot became available for free download on FOX's official site on August 22.  This can probably be considered a sign of supreme confidence in K-Ville by FOX.  Early word has been mostly positive, but given the subject matter, it'll take a lot of intestinal fortitude to pan a show with as noble a premise as K-Ville.  Anderson and Hauser have all the makings of a classic buddy cop team.  Anderson, especially, is a big presence who has been spending most of his recent career on the big screen in such high-profile films as The Departed and Hustle and Flow.  Hauser, as well, has always seemed destined for bigger things.  Perhaps K-Ville will catapult him into stardom.
