FX Sets Premiere Dates for 'Justified' and More
Monday, November 28, 2011
The cowboy is back. FX's critically acclaimed (and Emmy-winning) drama Justified will begin season 3 on Tuesday, January 17 at 10pm. The week will also bring the arrival of two animated comedies on Thursday: Archer's third season begins Thursday January 19 at 10pm followed by the new animated series Unsupervised.
Justified follows Deputy U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens as he patrols the backwoods of his hometown in Harlan County, Kentucky. The third season will introduce several new villains for Givens to face off against since Mags Bennett (Emmy winner Margo Martindale) was killed off in the season 2 finale.
Neal McDonough (recently seen on FX's Terriers) will play a Detroit mobster named Quarles while Mykelti Williamson (Forrest Gump and 24) will play a Harlan County native named Limehouse. This marks a Boomtown reunion, as both actors starred in the brilliant NBC drama which also came from Justified creator Graham Yost.
The new comedy Unsupervised comes from a trio of writers and producers from It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, including David Hornsby (star of CBS' recently failed How to Be a Gentleman). The animated series follows two teenagers who try to do good without parental supervision (like a Bizarro Beavis and Butt-head). The shows voice cast includes Kristen Bell, Justin Long, Weeds star Romany Malco, Always Sunny's Kaitlin Olsen, Saturday Night Live's Fred Armisen and David Hornsby.
Unsupervised will be historic as it marks the third TV series Kristen Bell will appear on simultaneously. She also provides narration on the CW's Gossip Girl and will star in the upcoming Showtime comedy House of Lies, premiering Sunday, January 8 at 10:30pm.
