While we're still waiting for Adam Lambert's new music video -- it should be out today, and once it's out, we'll post it here -- here's what else is going on in the American Idol universe. There's a bunch of relationship items, oddly.
Not all titles featured on BuddyTV are available through Amazon Prime.
Finally, an admission: season 6 winner Jordin Sparks and R&B singer Jason Derulo are dating.
The first time this rumor started swirling
the two denied being romantically linked
, but Derulo has since told People
that the Idol
graduate has been keeping him company while he recovers from a fractured neck that halted his concert tour. "We've gotten closer because of my accident," he says. "It's awesome to have someone you can talk to and she's a wonderful person."
Sparks also admitted the same thing during her guest host stint on the fourth hour of Today
this morning. "It actually came out of left field," she told the show
. "I've known him for a couple of years ... he just came out of left field and swept me off my feet." Also, they have promise rings. How cute.
Danny Gokey has tied the knot again:
the season 8 third placer married model Leyicet Peralta, People reports
. The two exchanged vows in a private ceremony in Florida over the weekend. Gokey was previously married, but he lost his wife Sophia in 2008 after routine surgery for heart disease. It's a story you'd know very well, since he mentioned it a lot
during his time on Idol
Jennifer Lopez teases an "intense" Hollywood week:
"This year, there's so many talented, big voices," she told Extra
. "We actually got rid of some really big and great voices during the process because they didn't have great consistency." (That's a lot of superlatives right there, J.Lo.) She also adds that, for some reason, the pressure among this year's hopefuls are bigger, since "they were dropping like flies" during Hollywood week. Let's see if it makes for good television. We have three more audition episodes to sit through, though.
Kelly Clarkson confirms that the next single off Stronger is "I Forgive You": snippet's below!
And finally, because the Idol bosses think we need more reason to watch the show this week, the February 2 episode will feature the world premiere of Madonna's latest music video. It's called "Give Me All Your Luvin'" and it features Nicki Minaj and M.I.A. Odd they're doing this during an audition episode, but I guess they needed to fill time, or there just aren't that many interesting singers to watch? What else would explain ten of the spoiled Top 24 coming from the first week of auditions?
