
The Disney Channel is not wasting time. The network that specializes in television programming for children through original series and movies is already working on a sequel to
Camp Rock following its successful weekend debut.
Camp Rock, for those who are not familiar, stars teen pop sensations the Jonas Brothers and introduces Demi Lovato for her first lead role in a film. The TV movie averaged 8.9 million viewers on the night of its premiere, making it the second highest-rated Disney Channel original movie of all time behind
High School Musical 2. You can read

According to
The Hollywood Reporter, the family-friendly network is expecting to start production on a sequel in late spring or early summer of next year, pending the development of a script and the cast members' schedules.
For the sequel,
TV Guide reports, though still unconfirmed, that the plot line will center on a string of gruesome killings that will haunt the kids when the fun moves down the road to Camp Crystal Rock.
Meanwhile, the Jonas Brothers (
Joe Jonas,
Kevin Jonas and
Nick Jonas), as well as new Disney starlet, Demi Lovato, are all .expected to return for the follow-up. At present, the stars are touring together this summer, and the same time working on their respective Disney TV series.
The Jonas Brothers stars on the reality series
Jonas Brothers: Living the Dream, which premiered on the Disney Channel on May 16. The show, which will tentatively run until September 5, documents their lives on the Look Me In The Eyes Tour. It features clips of the band rehearsing, traveling, performing, studying, and their personal life with their family and friends.
Living the Dream also features the Jonas Brothers' family and their back-up band.
As for Demi Lovato, who has guest starred on
Living the Dream, she’ll be appearing in the upcoming film
Princess Protection Program.
