If your New Year's resolution last year was to live under a rock, you might not know about the Jonas Brothers. Even if you resolved to spend the year in a mountain cave, now and then you'd still be able to hear the synchronized, high-pitched screams of adolescent girls in every surrounding metropolitan area. And, at that point, you'd start to wonder, like the rest of the world did at the beginning of 2008, what all this Jonas excitement is about.

In 2008, at every turn, the Jonas Brothers answered, showing us exactly why they've grown from Disney stars with a small but devoted fan base into the biggest teen group in a generation, complete with sold-out stadium shows, #1 albums, hit movies and TV shows. In 2007, the Jonas Brothers was a band. In 2008, Jonas Brothers is a brand, with worldwide appeal. But if you think they take a bit of it for granted—well, you really are under a rock, aren't you?

On Monday the Jonas Brothers posted a Happy New Year's message for their friends—more than one million of them—on MySpace. They listed all the things they are grateful for in 2008, and a few that they're looking forward to in 2009.

But mostly, they show us just how busy they've been this year. The boys' lists of highlights include an unbelievable number of firsts: Kids Choice Awards, Teen Choice Awards, American Music Award, European tour, #1 Billboard debut—and let's not forget their first Grammy Nomination for Best New Artist.

Kevin, Joe and Nick also count their blessings for the unprecedented amount of media they've produced this year: two albums, a reality TV series (Living the Dream), the Disney Original Movie Camp Rock and its accompanying soundtrack, a book (Burnin' Up) that went to #1 in its category on the New York Times Bestsellers list, and three big-production music videos. All this, while going on not one, not two, but three tours.

Oh yeah, and they also have a 3D movie and brand new TV show (JONAS) coming out on Disney Channel in 2009. Which is also when they're going on their first worldwide tour.

You can ring in the New Year with the JoBros because they will be performing in Times Square for Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest on Wednesday night. New York City's finest are concerned about the chaos that will ensue in the wake of this handsomely-coiffed trio because you can get your pants off that it's going to be a mob scene.

“So they're now planning on using extra [security] men for support,” an insider told People magazine. “It's going to be crazy because everyone will be in Times square to watch them perform on the show.”
