A source told People that the whole scenario was apparently staged by the reality TV star.  The insider said, "This was all a carefully orchestrated sequence: First, Hailey laments how hard her life has been lately and how bad Jon treats her, then Jon repents.  Next, Jon plans to announce that he is going to be spending some time alone.  It has all been designed so that it doesn't seem as though Hailey got dumped."

According to another source from E! Online, however, Jon Gosselin and Hailey Glassman are merely "taking a break."  Apparently, this isn't the first time she's tried to give up on her relationship with the dad of eight.

Well, maybe Jon's already scouting for his next girl all the while.  The insider told People, "Jon has said he was done [with Hailey] before, but he basically hasn't been single since he was 19 ... He doesn't really know how to be alone.  He'll probably still spend most of his time either with Hailey, or some new girl."

Then again, this could certainly go against the teachings of Rabbi Shmuley Boteach.  The Jon and Kate Plus 8 dad has decided to take on a more spiritual path with him, even issuing a public apology.  However, he might reconsider that since he's barely allowed to relish his bachelor days.

People reports that Boteach said last Friday, "For example, he should not be with Hailey Glassman right now and when things are resolved with his wife, then he should think about that."

Whether or not Hailey and Jon have headed to splitsville remains a mystery, as neither party commented on the issue.
