Just like that, we have another word war between the Gosselin parents. The two stars of TLC's now Jon-less Jon and Kate Plus 8 have released their statements regarding the recent buzz surrounding their show. Offense, defense, they're both still pretty hated by most of the country.
According to Us Magazine, Kate Gosselin reacted to her (ex-)husband's statement of trying to patch things up for the children by delaying the divorce. She said that she was "saddened and confused by Jon's public media statements." The 34-year-old mom of eight even has the support of the network.
She went on: "Jon has never expressed any concerns to me about our children being involved in the show and, in fact, is on the record as saying he believes the show benefits our children and was taping on Friday with the kids."
Of course, Kate had to pat herself on the back a bit as well. "I check in regularly with each of the kids to be sure they want to participate in and continue with the show and will continue to do so," she said. "I do the show for my family because I believe it provides us opportunities we wouldn't otherwise have."
As for slamming the father of her brood: "Jon used to share that belief until as recently as the day the network announced the name change of the show and indicated that Jon would have a lesser role in the show. It appears that Jon's priority is Jon and his interests. My priority remains our children and their well being."
Meanwhile, TLC has stated how Jon's remarks about how the show mistreats the kids are "are grossly inaccurate, without merit and are clearly opportunistic." This led them to suspend airing the series' once again.
While Kate Gosselin's statement deals more with the issue regarding the title of the show, Jon's is more about their relationship. Either way, it's difficult to believe what they're telling us.
Jon Gosselin's manager Mike Heller spoke to
People about his efforts to get back with Kate. "It's been hurting the relationship that he's trying to reconcile with his wife - he's trying to get back with her as a parent," Heller said. Really, what will Hailey Glassman say now?
"He's taken responsibility and you don't see him running wild any more. He hasn't been out partying," Heller went on. "He's taken a look at his himself in the mirror and he wasn't happy, it's not who he was. He never cheated on his wife. His wife is the one who ended the relationship."
Talk about pointing fingers. Now it's even more doubtful these two really would stay together for the sake of the kids.
