Whether you think she's too outspoken for her own good or not, there's no stopping Kate Gosselin from getting what she wants. But she's not exactly sure that a talk show is the right way to go. The Jon and Kate Plus 8 star has supposedly been chosen for her own series similar to The View, in which she made a recent appearance.
E! News has reported that Telepictures, responsible for the shows of Ellen DeGeneres and Tyra Banks, is thinking of developing a morning series starring the mom of eight. She'll be joined by TV cooking personality Paula Deen, but they won't be the only ones.
"They're looking around and casting for other women to be on the show with them," an insider told the publication. "But they want all the women to be moms."
The 62-year-old Deen has a couple of grown sons and already hosts three shows for the Food Network, namely
Paula's Home Cooking,
Paula's Party and
Paula's Best Dishes. She apparently signed a deal with Telepictures for her own syndicated show before, but the project didn't push through. However, her deal with Gosselin might just make it.
The
Jon and Kate Plus 8 matriarch spoke at the Southern Women's Show in Charlotte, N.C. about the possible career move.
Access Hollywood reports her saying: "I've been given the gift of gab, so why not use it?"
Over the weekend, it was confirmed that Kate Gosselin already shot the pilot for the talk show. The other potential co-hosts were comedian Judy Gold, former
Early Show coanchor Rene Syler and newsman Bob Woodruff's wife, Lee Woodruff.
The show would, of course, focus on issues regarding motherhood and the first episode saw the ladies getting to know each other. Now, whether or not the project will see the light of day and get picked up is still in question. That will be the decision of the Telepictures executives, a choice we're all just waiting to hear about.
