Even though a lot of people rejoiced upon hearing that
Jon and Kate reunited with the kids to celebrate Independence Day during the weekend, it sounds as though all isn't well after all. While the family's celebration was a grand time for the Gosselins, it wasn't something that the authorities would applaud. Apparently, the
Jon and Kate Plus 8 stars broke the law with their little fireworks display.
A source told Life & Style magazine what happened during that holiday, when Jon Gosselin lit everything from sparklers to rockets in the backyard of their Pennsylvania home. It occurred in broad daylight, which worried some of the neighbors and onlookers.
"Things got so loud that one ka-boom in particular sent all the kids scurrying back to the house," revealed the eyewitness. At the time, Jon had in his hands a variety of cherry bombs and other firecrackers.
Hearing that bothersome sound, Kate immediately yelled, "Jon, I think that's illegal in Pennsylvania!" Her ex-husband didn't know that she was actually right.
Later on, Thomas Deiterich of the Lower Heidelberg, Pa., police department was asked by the magazine to comment on the matter. He only managed to confirm the suspicions of the Jon and Kate Plus 8 matriarch.
"Fireworks are illegal for personal home use in the state of Pennsylvania," Deiterich announced. However, he added that this law isn't usually enforced.
It sounds like the reality television star got away with it after all. If he wanted to set an example for the kids, it wasn't a good idea to light fireworks in the day. However, he was just being a dad and making his children laugh for once. Who can really say if that's a bad thing?
Despite that, the insider revealed that the Gosselins had a great time while together. Even though husband and wife distanced themselves from one another, the kids were obviously thrilled at having the family unified once again.
