Looks like the final nail is in the coffin of the 10-year marriage between the stars of Jon and Kate Plus 8. According to People Magazine, papers "to initiate a legal split were filed at the Bucks Country Courthouse in Doylestown, Pa., Monday afternoon." It's not the official press release one might expect out of a high profile couple but it's definitely not a surprise to anyone paying attention to the news recently.

Tonight's episode is supposed to reveal a major announcement. Considering the episode was probably taped a month ago, I doubt we'll see them file for divorce. The couple has been "separated" as far as onlookers can tell so I'm guessing that might be the biggest announcement we'll hear.


Jon is rumored to want a less public lifestyle whereas Kate always wanted to foster her television career. They've admitted to having problems in the past but the situation exploded when Jon was seen out and about at bars with younger women.

Stay tuned for more news on the divorce scandal and make sure to watch Jon and Kate Plus 8 on TLC tonight for the big announcement. Whatever happens, I really hope it doesn't get any uglier - at least to shield the children from any more scandal.
