'Jericho' Season 2 DVD Set Arriving in June
I love how quickly most networks are releasing their DVD sets these days.  While seasons of Lost and Battlestar Galactica can still take many months to arrive in stores after airing season finales, shows like Friday Night Lights are released so quickly that you barely realize a season has ended by the time the DVDs hit the shelves.  I wish every season of television would go on sale so quickly, as waiting does nothing but make me cranky and impatient.

If you happen to be an impatient Jericho fan, today is your lucky day.  CBS DVD and Paramount Home Entertainment recently announced that the complete second season of Jericho will go on sale on June 17.  The seven episode set will even include the alternate ending that would have been shown had the series been picked up for a third season.

According to TVShowsonDVD.com, the studio has yet to release a price for the upcoming release.  However, because it's likely to be a two-disc set, the price should be around $30.  That's not a bad deal for all seven episodes, the alternate ending to the finale, commentary by executive producers Dan Shotz and Jon Steinberg on five episodes, and two featurettes.  These special documentaries, entitled "Nut Job" and "Rebuilding Jericho," will go into all the behind-the-scenes antics of the second season.

As you'd expect on a modern day DVD set, the episodes will be in widescreen and in 5.1 surround sound.  Also on June 17, Paramount will release a shrinkwrapped bundle that includes both the first and second seasons of Jericho.  The bundle won't feature any extra features or special pricing, but it'll be convenient for fans who haven't picked up the first set.  Paramount will be labeling the bundle as "The Complete Series," which doesn't bode well for fans hoping that the show will be picked up by another network.
