Following the announced resurrection of
Jericho, the cast and crew of the CBS drama series are now eager to get back to work and exert all efforts to reciprocate the gratifying display of loyalty and support from fits fans to bring back the series for yet another season.
The next couple of weeks are going to be very hectic for the cast and crew of
Jericho. Filming has already started on July 31 for the seven-episode order CBS officially picked up earlier in June.
Read on for a quick update on
Jericho's production progress.
“Hey Everybody. [This is] just a quick update on our first two weeks of production. We wrapped episode one on Tuesday night [July 31]. Our director, Steve Boyum, was amazing. He set the tone for our seven-day production shoots. The cast was so fired up to be back. Our crew stepped up big time. Episode two began production on Wednesday [Aug 1] and our director, Chris Leitch, is picking up right where Boyum left off. Talented guys. So, as we work on editing episode one, shooting episode two, and prepping episode three [which starts production next Friday, Aug. 10] we've got our hands full. The Writers Room is adding finishing touches to our final three episodes. It's busy time,” Karim Zreik, co-executive producer of the series stated on the network's website.
Prior to filming the second season, the cast and crew graced the recently held Comic-Con, in which they talked about the show and its upcoming season.
“Comic-Con was simply phenomenal. It was great to see so many fans come out and offer their support. The t-shirts were a huge hit. This show is a family, and we were excited to see it grow,” Zreik wrote on the CBS website.
There is no word yet on the exact return of Jericho. Meanwhile, the network is working several ways to help promote the show to a new audience.
“At this time, I cannot tell you the specific date or time period that
Jericho will return to our schedule. However, in the interim, we are working on several initiatives to help introduce the show to new audiences. This includes re-broadcasting
Jericho on CBS this summer, streaming episodes and clips from these episodes across the CBS Audience Network [online], releasing the first season DVD… and continuing the story of Jericho in the digital world until the new episodes return. We will let you know specifics when we have them so you can pass them on,” CBS President Nina Tassler said in a statement.
