From the beginning, Jericho was a very bold choice.  In times where the nation was still living with the prickly memories of September 11th, orange alerts, and the constant rhetoric of “The War on Terror,” it seemed that a show that reveled in the worst-case scenario ran the risk of preying on the nation’s paranoia.  Instead, Jericho almost became just what the country needed, an allegory on all aspects of the human condition, and the American spirit.  It celebrated our courage to survive and unite against the gravest odds, and it chilled us with the realistic depictions of humankind’s darkest nature.  Now that Jericho has been canceled, is there any chance it can be saved?  A group of zealous fans seem to think that they can find Jericho a place on TNT’s schedule.  Will TNT answer the call?
 


There is precedent for abandoned shows leaping networks (Props to Chuckbarris for correcting me on this!), although it would be strange for it to happen at this stage in the game.  Certainly, as far as fans saving shows go, the art is a crapshoot.   Fan sentiment has been successful in getting shows renewed in the past, but timing is everything.  Perhaps part of the problem here is that Jericho fans were comfortable with the fact that their show would be renewed.

The right time to begin lobbying for Jericho’s renewal would have been when the show did not get an early second season order after its strong opening.  The lengthily hiatus that CBS imposed on the show seemed to trim the fan base considerably.  Rather than see if a tweak to the formula could get it back on track next year, however, CBS pulled the cork.

Therefore, if you want to see it come back there are a couple of things to do.  First, definitely visit the thread at TNT’s forum and your voice to those that are pushing TNT to take a look at the property.

Another thing you can do is post comments here!  Provide the pertinent contact information to reach CBS execs, and organize.
