'Jericho' Actress Hopes Show "Lives On for at Least 13 Seasons"
The second season of Jericho has not even begun airing, but one show star is already wishing the post-apocalyptic drama will go on for many more years to come.

“I hope that Jericho lives on for at least 13 seasons and keeps the fans on the edges of their seat!” April Parker-Jones, who plays Robert Hawkins' (Lennie James) wife Darcy on the CBS drama, told Jericho Monster.

While fans may agree with Parker-Jones, the fate of Jericho lies in how well the show's highly-anticipated second season performs, and how many more viewers it attracts.  Doing well in the coming year is extremely important for the series, considering it is one of the few shows that has been brought back from cancellation, and therefore, must take every opportunity to further prove itself.

Despite the uncertainty, Parker-Jones remains optimistic, viewing the show's revival as “confirmation that you can't keep a good show down.”

Originally, April Parker-Jones auditioned for the role of Mimi Clark (Alicia Coppola), but, for her callback, was asked to read for the part of Darcy.  She was also told that the character would most likely appear in only one episode.

However, Parker-Jones' inclusion in Jericho turned out to be more than just a guest-starring gig, and by the end of the first season, her character had begun to come into her own.  According to the actress, viewers will be able to see some more character development in the upcoming season.

“I think in Season 2 there will be an even greater growth with Darcy,” she told Jericho Monster.  “I really like that she puts her family first! I like that there is a softness there, although it is sometimes masked because of her commitment to her families well being.  I like it that she still really loves her husband and that she is a lot smarter than she lets on.”

Being on Jericho has given April Parker-Jones the opportunity to work with “amazing people,” but what tops her list of bonuses is none other than the craft service on the set.

“There is an endless amount of food!” she told Jericho Monster.  “At every turn or at your demand, something fabulous to eat can be whipped up for you.  It's very dangerous, but oh so wonderful!”
