Michael Gaston as Gray Anderson

Gray Anderson of CBS' Jericho is played by Michael Gaston. The part owner of the local salt mine, Gray is a politically savvy and manipulative mayor candidate and opponent of Mayor Johnston Green. He is an incompetent man who tried so hard to assert his control by driving the refugees out of Jericho. However, his efforts are all in vain when the Greens raise enough provision for them to stay, and convince the townspeople to help the refugees.

During the attacks in Jericho, Gray rose to be the major opponent of Johnston Green in the recall elections. He kept placing himself in a position of authority, even if Green ended up reining over him. In one incident, Green punched him in the mayor's office and warned him that messing with Green's authority would not be a good thing for the townspeople, who were troubled by the bizarre events happening in Jericho.

Gray momentarily left Jericho to gather information about what had happened in other parts of the country. He drove away in his SUV, heading east towards Topeka. He returned bearing news that New York City survived the attacks, but Washington D.C. and Lawrence had not. Upon his return, he found out that Mayor Green was ill, and he took this opportunity to promote himself and gain more control over the town's government. As Green's condition became worse, Gray continued to take advantage, asserting his authority even more over the town. Finally, when the recall elections took place, he emerged victorious over the sick Green.

Gray began his term by leading a town meeting which revolved around how the townspeople would deal with the energy situation. Apparently, they were about to lose all electrical power, and Heather Lisinski suggested that they should build a windmill to generate power. Gray approved this suggestion and organized a team to head to Black Jack Fairgrounds to gather material for their windmill.
