Good television shows die every day. Well, maybe not every single day, but certainly every season. One of the good shows that died last year was the post-apocalyptic CBS drama
Jericho. However, unlike most shows that get canceled and then disappear forever to DVD,
Jericho was resurrected for seven episodes due to the tenacity of determined fans. Over 40,000 pounds of nuts were sent to the network, and finally they relented and allowed
Jericho to have a second season.
Last week the network announced that they were canceling the show once again, and this time they gave the impression that no amount of nuts would change their minds.
Jericho simply hasn't pulled in many new viewers over the past seven weeks, leading CBS to believe that producing more episodes isn't a wise idea. Will fans say their goodbyes to the show and let it go on its way, or is it time for another campaign?

I've heard that CBS is in talks with Comcast to bring Jericho back the same way they did with Friday Night ...
I would say that CBS reversing the cancellation for a second time is completely impossible, and most fans would agree. It was unheard of when it happened the first time, so even if
Jericho lovers bury the entire CBS office in peanuts, it's not going to happen. However, that doesn't necessarily mean that all hope is lost.
This time the fans are rallying in the hope that another network may pick up the series. Executive producer Carol Barbee is reportedly shopping the show around to a few other networks, which may include the CW or TNT. The Sci Fi Channel, which would seem the most obvious choice, is probably unlikely since it's owned by NBC. Fans are already writing to these networks, as well as sending letters to advertisers who have supported
Jericho, such as Sprint and Snickers. The angrier fans are talking about boycotting CBS and, of course, sending the network rage-filled letters. There are also online petitions being created to beg CBS to save the show.
While some fans have become livid and vowed to protest, others have made peace with the cancellation. Many
Jericho lovers are simply thanking CBS for giving the show a second season in the first place.
I've had shows that I loved and adored canceled on me more times than I can count. While protesting does occasionally help, I think in this case it's best to mourn and move on.
Jericho achieved a miracle when it was renewed for another season, but asking for a second miracle is a bit much. However, if you do want to keep the dream alive, I'd recommend visiting
