The constant influx of guest stars seems to be an ongoing thing for How I Met Your Mother. After enlisting The O.C.'s Rachel Bilson, Project Runway's Tim Gunn and The Whole Nine Yards' Amanda Peet, the show has now booked one of the most influential Hispanic entertainers in the U.S.
According to CBS' press release, Jennifer Lopez will be gracing an upcoming episode of
How I Met Your Mother this March and will play a character whose mission is to "break" Barney. As Anita Appleby, Lopez will be appearing as a no-nonsense author of self-help books that teach women how to train men into relationship machines through the power of denial.
"We couldn't be more excited about Jennifer Lopez joining us on
How I Met Your Mother," executive producer and co-creator Carter Bays said in a statement. "We're looking forward to a week of revealing outfits and sexy dance moves the likes of which this show hasn't seen since Regis Philbin guest starred."
Lopez, whose character will take on Barney as soon as Robin tells her about how he treats women, is also rumored to guest star on FOX's
Glee, and can be seen in upcoming films such as
The Back-up Plan, Double or Nothing and
The Governess.
Next week on
How I Met Your Mother, fans can look forward to 2009 World Champion New York Yankee Nick Swisher and CBS Sports Broadcaster Jim Nantz as they guest star as themselves in the episode "The Perfect Week."
