 Iron Chef America is a cooking reality game show based on the series of Iron Chef. Leading the series are the 4 Iron Chefs, Mario Batali, the Italian cuisine expert, Bobby Flay, a Southwestern cuisine specialist and former Iron Chef challenger, Masaharu Morimoto, Japanese cuisine expert from the original series, and Cat Cora, a Greek and Aegean cuisine specialist and first female Iron Chef.


Mark Dacascos serves as the new “Chairman” of the program Iron Chef America who also portrays the newphew of the original Chairman Kaga. In the competition, the Iron Chefs are given 5 minutes to discuss their strategy before the battle begins. Every episode comes with the unveiling of the theme ingredient, followed by the actual cooking battle. The challenger and the Iron Chef have 60 minutes to prepare a minimum of 5 dishes based on the revealed theme ingredient. After the cooking preparations, the dishes are sampled by a panel of three judges and scored as well. The chef with the higher score is declared the winner.

Iron Chef America is produced by John Bravakis and Steve Kroopnick. It airs Sundays at 9:00 PM on the Food Network.
