Bobby Flay, popularly known from the Food Network’s
Iron Chef America: The Series, is taking a trip to Green Bay, Wisconsin in order to appear as a celebrity chef for the new
Get Cooking! food show.
The said food show will be held at the Resch Center and Shopko Hall in Ashwaubenon (a suburb of Green Bay) on September 22nd.
Flay will present two live cooking shows at the Resch Center, one at 11 am and the other at 2pm. Born into a family of chefs and restaurateurs, Flay was first employed as a cook at the Joe Allen Restaurant, of which his father was a partner. He then enrolled at the French Culinary Institute, and in 1984, received his degree in Culinary Arts. Now, at the age of 42, Flay is not only an
Iron Chef America star, but is also the owner and executive chef of six restaurants (three branches of Mesa Grill, Bolo Bar & Restaurant, Bar Americain and Bobby Flay Steak).
Flay’s involvement with the Food Network has also been fruitful. Currently, he is hosting four cooking shows, namely
Boy Meets Grill, BBQ with Bobby Flay, Throwdown! with Bobby Flay and
FoodNation. In
Iron Chef America, which first started airing in 2005, Flay is known as the Southwestern cuisine specialist. He has been known to use mango and honey in many of his dishes.
Aside from Flay’s demonstrations at the Resch Center, the
Get Cooking! food show will also feature a Marketplace at Shopko Hall, where visitors can learn about the latest cooking techniques and kitchen gadgets, as well as collect recipes and sample food. Also in Shopko Hall, The Flavor of Wisconsin Stage will have instructors from the Fox Valley College Culinary Arts Program cooking up their favorite recipes.
