Davis Mallory originated from Marietta, Georgia and comes from a conservative Christianity family who did not accept his gay sexuality when he was young. He auditioned for Real World when he was in college and participated in an open call for the show. He was instantly attracted to the Real World: Chicago, as he was an avid fan of Chris Beckman, another homosexual on the show. Being part of The Real World season 18 made him more confident in his sexual preference, and became a step for him to fully establish his individuality. He said that it was a grand coming out event for him, as he had only revealed his sexual preference to everybody around a month before he joined the show.

Davis Mallory is featured on MTV's Inferno III: Real World / Road Rules Challenge as one of the Good Guys. On the show, he tries to prove that there’s no such thing as a stereotype and that every individual is unique.
