So let's now welcome Holly Montag as replacement. After their supposed battles with the devil, Heidi and Spencer Pratt have officially withdrawn their participation from I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here. Their reason now is Heidi's "gastric ulcer," which probably equates to a bug gnawing her insides.
Briefly returning to the show last Monday, the two stars of The Hills announced their departure from Costa Rica. During that episode, Spencer stated their well-being as the reason for their recent decision to pack up. They apparently didn't trust the producers enough when they assured the safety of the stars.
"We gave it our all in the competition," Spencer Pratt revealed during the episode, "now it's about health."
Spending time inside the Lost Chamber seems more bearable than hearing all of this from the two. Still, it was that certain punishment that led to the hospitalization of Heidi Montag. It was soon discovered that she wasn't exaggerating when she admitted to throwing up constantly upon exiting the dark, insect-infected room. She vomited around 10 or 15 times and claimed she was in an extreme amount of pain.
It looks like we won't be able to see that again though. Heidi was then brought via ambulance to the local medical center with her husband standing by. To get her through the whole thing, Spencer kept telling her ,"I love you so much, baby ... Jesus loves you more than anyone, baby."
It was later discovered that there was nothing wrong with Heidi's pancreas or gallbladder. She wasn't suffering from either ulcer or gastritis, but she didn't want to go back to the competition.
Contestant Janice Dickinson even said "It's another act ... everything they do is calculated. It's another act."
Despite the comments of the
I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here competitors, the
Hills newlyweds stuck with their decision. "At the end of the day, we went back in and proved it wasn't about us," Spencer said. "This was a life-changing experience."
With Speidi finally out of the show, it's Heidi's big sister who'll be debuting on the Wednesday episode to take her place.
