There may be so much conflicts going on in the wilderness of I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here, but it seems like the producers want to focus on a different side of things. On a recent episode of the NBC game show, there was quite a lot of buzz surrounding the possible romance of Hills star Holly Montag and American Idol contestant Sanjaya Malakar. Unfortunately, it looks like friendship is all that's going to form between those two.
For kicks, Janice Dickinson asked the singing celeb to put on guy-liner. Sanjaya agreed, raising the eyebrows of his castmates. Later on, he discussed the issue with Holly Montag when they were alone.
"I just feel like she wants you to be gay or something," the
Hills star told him. Sanjaya wasn't surprised though, but he continued to defend his side of the story.
"Like, yeah, a lot of people want me to be their gay best friend, and I make a really good gay best friend," he revealed. "But I don't like guys, so it confuses people."
Sanjaya even took to the confessional cameras and went on to explain. "I do hair, and I'll sit in the corner and knit. So it confuses people. A lot of my friends refer to me as their 'straight gay best friend' because we'll go do things that stereotypically you would do with a gay guy."
The former
American Idol competitor went on to say that his sexuality was probably brought about by his upbringing. "I was raised by women, so I kind of have a connection with my feminine side, but I'm attracted to women," he admitted. "So, it's like people like to kind of throw that at me, like, 'Oh, you must be gay.' But I'm like, 'Whatever, gay people are awesome.'"
This further confused Holly Montag, who just told her friend: "If you're not gay then you shouldn't call yourself gay." It looks like she's going to fight for the fact that Sanjaya could indeed be a romantic interest for her. That is, if she isn't eliminated yet.
