While it might feel like a lifetime, but it's really just been a couple of months since the second season of
I Love New York began, and we met this season's cast of characters.
I Love New York 2 included the unforgettable
Midget Mac,
Cheezy,
The Entertainer,
It,
Mr. Wise,
Punk,
20-Pack, and all the other men who made up the twenty suitors who bravely set out this season to win the heart of New York (
Tiffany Pollard).
But now, we are down to just two, and on Monday night, we will find out who New York picked –
Buddha or
Tailor Made – to receive that final chain.
Or you could maybe find out right now. There is a pretty convincing spoiler that has been circulating.
If you want to find out this spoiler for the finale, and learn early who New York picks, click on through. If you want to wait until Monday, do not read the rest of the post and tune in to the finale at 9pm Eastern.
The spoilers online come in the form of video clips from the final show itself. Unless this is all an elaborate hoax perpetrated by VH1 itself, it would appear that they are legitimately the actual show, edited and with music, graphics, etc.
And so, again, barring any hoax, it would appear that the man who wins New York's heart is…Tailor Made.
I'll give everyone a minute to recover from their general queasiness.
Whatever you think about New York, you have to either admire her moxie or believe that she truly found some kind of…love with Tailor Made. Because nearly all reality dating shows usually end with the more likable of the two final contestants winning the person's heart. Or, at least, that's how things play out on the final show and is the charade that's maintained for the usual few weeks until everyone admits the relationship didn't work out.
But it's rare for the actually villain of the series to actually make it to the final two, and even more bizarre for one of the least likable reality characters since, well, New York herself to be the one selected. Maybe she is sincere in her statements that she will not be returning for another search at love, because it's hard to imagine any audience would watch again knowing a character like Tailor Made could emerge as a winner.
I have two other theories besides actual human emotion and ratings-improving scandal as possible reasons for a Tailor Made win. New York suffered a fairly public humiliation when
Tango rejected her in the
I Love New York reunion show. She remarks in the spoiler clips how much she likes how submissive Tailor Made is and how he'll do whatever she wants. This is certainly a much safer bet than someone like a headstrong Buddha.
The other rationale would be that a Tailor Made choice is actually also the sticking-it-to-Buddha choice, his punishment for not being sufficiently obedient to her will. In the clips, she specifically elicits an admission of being “in love” from Buddha before she cuts him loose.
So to see how this all plays out, tune into the finale on Monday night.
