David Fickas is an American actor, director and producer who was born in Arcadia, California. He graduated from the USC School of Theatre with a minor in Film, and proceeded to work on a number of entertainment productions. His debut feature film was titled Angels & Aliens: The Basement and the Kitchen, which won the Audience Award at the Santa Monica Film Festival. After its premiere at the Seattle Film Fest in 1999, the film went on to screen in several festivals and was greatly acclaimed. For his work, Fickas was honored by Filmmaker Magazine as one of their “25 New Faces to Watch.”
Another credit to David Fickas was co-creating the comedy sketch show Another Showcase Showdown, which was awarded a spot during the 2002 U.S. Comedy Arts Festival. He has also worked on MTV’s Undressed, as well as continuing his production of films such as Silent Story, Deliverance: The Musical, The Hopefuls, and Farewell Bender. His other appearances include those in News Junkie in 2006, and on Wasted as the character Clocky. He next voiced characters in the film Shark Bait, before landing a role in the VH1 comedy television series I Hate My 30s. David Fickas’ role is that of Chad, a hopeless romantic who is in love with Carol, yet the two of them are unable to go out with each other due to the fact that they work together. Nevertheless, he offers Carol a very personal gift on her 30th birthday, which only serves to make her more neurotic about the whole event. He’s faced later on with the prospect of having to find a date for an upcoming wedding, which Mandy also has to attend.
In 2008, Fickas wrote the series 5 Minute Office Workout, and No Football for Old Men, which he directed and executive produced as well.
