It was five seasons ago that Ted Mosby (Josh Radnor) sat his son and daughter down to tell them the story of how he met their mother. After many women, many beers at MacLaren's, and many memorable pick-up lines from Barney Stinson, we still haven't met the mother.
But we might be getting a little closer now.
Ausiello Files reports that Cindy (Rachel Bilson) will be returning to the show for its sixth season.
In season 5 we all wondered for a hot second if Cindy could be Ted's
baby mama. This theory quickly fell apart after their lackluster date.
Cindy spent most of the date complaining about her annoying roommate who
has a soft spot for robot paintings and singing breakfast foods. Cue
future Ted showing off the robot painting that hangs in his house,
reminiscing about singing English Muffins. Coincidence? Clearly not.
Cindy will show up during the season premiere at--where else--MacLaren's, and I'm curious to see how her character will figure into the storyline
now that we know her roommate is Ted's future wife. Will there be
jealousy? Betrayal? More glimpses of mother's leg? According to series
creator Carter Bays, "The season premiere is going to be very much
informed by [Bilson's] presence."
But then, you probably already knew that.
How I Met Your Mother premieres Monday, Sept. 20. Will you be watching?
