When we last saw
How I Met Your Mother, Marshall and Lily decided to move out on their own, falling in love with a place they can't really afford. Despite Lily's bad credit rating due to her compulsive shopping (particularly for shoes and boots), they were able to finally score their dream apartment. Unfortunately, they soon found out that the apartment is crooked and that the neighborhood is next to a sewage treatment plant.
So what obstacles await Marshall and Lily next season? In an interview with
TV Guide,
Alyson Hannigan, who plays kindergarten teacher and amateur painter Lily on
How I Met Your Mother, hints on what's in store for her character on the fifth season of the CBS sitcom.
“Well, probably still a lot more debt. I don't know. We're gonna have to deal with that dreaded apartment…that we bought the world's worst apartment…I'm sure they'll deal with that,” Hannigan told
TV Guide.
While it seems like viewers haven't seen the last of the “box of shame,” a pink shoebox where Lily's multiple credit cards are kept, Hannigan remains open yet tightlipped on the possibility of getting her character pregnant.
“I don't know. We'll see,” she said.
In addition to Hannigan,
How I Met Your Mother also stars
Cobie Smulders as Robin,
Jason Segel as Marshall,
Josh Radnor as Ted, and
Neil Patrick Harris as Barney.
Prior to landing a regular role on
How I Met Your Mother, Hannigan was known for her role as Willow Rosenberg, on the cult hit
Buffy the Vampire Slayer and the spin-off series
Angel. She also appeared as a recurring character on
Veronica Mars as
Jason Dohring's character's sister Trina Echolls and Jessie Harper on the series
Free Spirit. In the big screen, she starred as Michelle Flaherty, opposite Jason Biggs, on the
American Pie comedy trilogy.
