The fourth season of How I Met Your Mother will not return to our television screens until September 22.  That's still a mighty three weeks from now. Previously, we left the gang on rather precarious grounds.  Ted (Josh Radnor) is in the throes of making a big decision regarding his relationship with Stella (Sarah Chalke), who, last we checked, stands a very good chance of being the oft-mentioned mother.

Fox announced that How I Met Your Mother Season Three arrives on DVD on October 7, meaning some two weeks after the premiere of season following it.

In season 3, we saw Robin (Cobie Smulders) return from a trip to Argentina, prompting Ted to adjust to just being friends with her.  Meanwhile, Marshall (Jason Segel ) and Lily (Alyson Hannigan) decided to live together, and they found a place they loved but couldn't afford.  The apartment they ended up on is on a neighborhood next to a sewage treatment plan.  For his part, Ted stumbles upon dermatologist Stella (Sarah Chalke) thanks to a "two-minute date" with small talk, a movie, coffee, two cab rides, plus a good night kiss.

Meanwhile, after comforting her, Barney (Neil Patrick Harris) ends up sleeping with Robin, which caused his and Ted's falling out for allegedly breaking the "Bro Code." In the last episode "Miracles," both Ted and Barney figured in separate accidents and the two finally reconcile. Also, at the end of the episode Ted proposed to Stella.  Of course, it wasn't made clear if Stella was the girl Ted married in the end, since that would've spelled the end of the series, not just the season.

The special features in the DVD include Lily And Marshall's Honeymoon Videos, Cast Favorites Featurette, Additional Scenes - How It Really Happened, Behind The Scenes Of “We're Not From Here," Ted Mosby Is A Jerk Alternate Audio Track - “The Bracket," You Just Got Slapped Music Video, plus several commentaries.

Told through flashbacks, an unseen and uncredited Bob Saget narrates the storylines to his children as Ted. The cast includes Josh Radnor, Jason Segel, Alyson Hannigan, Cobie Smulders and Neil Patrick Harris.  Known to get particularly notable guest stars, for this season, it includes Britney Spears, Heidi Klum, Mandy Moore, Enrique Iglesias and Sarah Chalke.
