If you've seen Barney Stinson pickup women in the past, it's not really hard to imagine him scoring the perfect week--- which basically means hooking up with seven women in seven days with zero rejection. What is delightfully surprising, however, is how How I Met Your Mother cleverly used this plot as figment of Barney's imagination to distract himself from screwing up a merger at work that might get him fired.
But the perfect week didn't just temporarily masked Barney's distress over work, it also served as a distraction for everyone else who was having a crappy week. Robin went on a date with her "soul mate" who won't call her back, Ted accidentally made fun of a student named Cook Poo who dropped out of his class, and Marshall and Lily were rejected by another couple when they accidentally revealed they share a toothbrush.
It was fun watching Barney pursue seven girls in a row, especially since CBS announcer Jim Nantz and New York Yankee Nick Swisher were part of the episode too. But my favorite part about "The Perfect Week" was watching Ted and Robin mock Marshall and Lily for sharing a toothbrush only to discover that Ted had also been using the same toothbrush Marshall and Lily used when the three of them were still living together. And to make things even grosser, Robin used the same tooth brush as well when she was still dating Ted.
