The progression of Cobie Smulders' character on How I Met Your Mother is astonishing. In the beginning, she was Ted's rather bland new girlfriend, but over the course of the first three seasons, Robin morphed into one of the show's most reliably funny characters, with her Canadian heritage and desperate attempts to fit in.

BuddyTV recently visited the set of How I Met Your Mother and sat down with Smulders to talk about season 4. She talked about Canada, the Robin-Barney relationship, and the likelihood of yet another Robin Sparkles music video. Continue reading for the highlights and to watch our exclusive video interview.

Last season, Barney and Robin slept together, and while we've seen Barney struggle with his feelings, Robin has done her best to forget about it. Smulders said this will continue, and while Barney might hold a torch for the Canadian reporter, Robin will continue to act as if their one night of passion never happened. However, in the big wedding episode that was filming the day we visited the set, Smulders reveals that relationship will be brought up again.

Fans will also remember from season 3's “The Goat” that some time this season, Robin will be moving in to Ted's apartment. While Smulders doesn't know the exact details, she suspects it has something to do with her getting rid of her apartment when she moves away for a new job.

The past two seasons also provided fans with music videos by Robin Sparkles, the Canadian pop star Robin used to be. While How I Met Your Mother won't turn into The Robin Sparkles Show, Smulders revealed that the writers have already talked to her about a way to include yet another song this season. Smulders admits that the Robin Sparkles videos are her favorite thing she's ever done on How I Met Your Mother, because not only does she get to film the video, but she gets to go into a recording studio and lay down the track.
