When BuddyTV visited the set of How I Met Your Mother this past Friday, we saw them film a wedding and a scene with a monkey throwing marshmallows. Needless to say, it's good to have this show back. How I Met Your Mother returns for season 4 tonight at 8:30pm on CBS, and BuddyTV went behind the scenes to see what's in store for the cast this year.

Over the next few weeks, we'll bring you exclusive video interviews with Cobie Smulders, Jason Segel, Josh Radnor and even Sarah Chalke, who is returning for several episodes as Stella. They spoke about the new season, the big wedding coming in November, as well as the possible returns of Robin Sparkles and the Slap Bet.

The fascinating thing about a sitcom set is that everything is in a single line. Ted Moseby's bathroom leads right into the bar at MacLaren's. I would have loved to explore Ted's apartment, but it was full of film equipment at the time.

Instead, we spent the day in MacLaren's Bar. On any set, my favorite thing to do is explore and check out the details the set decorators put into what they do. For instance, did you know that a MacLaren's Burger costs $7.95? You have to respect the person who bothered to come up with those menus, because no one watching at home will ever be able to freeze frame or zoom in close enough to actually read them, yet they're just as detailed as any bar menu.

Less realistic would be the papers on Robin's news desk. You might think that would be the perfect place to write your lines, but some prop person appeared to have gone slightly insane and wrote a page-long manifesto of random thoughts about life. People in television obviously love finding ways to amuse themselves.

The stars themselves were incredibly nice. Cobie Smulders (or Cobe, which rhymes with robe, as she's called on the set) is a bit shy, but more than eager to talk about her Canadian roots, which she shares with guest stars Sarah Chalke and Daily Show correspondent Jason Jones, who will be appearing in the big wedding episode.

Josh Radnor and Sarah Chalke have an easy chemistry and it's clear that the cast would love to have her join full time, which will be easier since Scrubs finished filming its final episode last week. Jason Segel is exactly the big, adorable dude you'd expect, telling stories about eating mayonnaise on a dare and telling a poorly-received joke on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson comparing the success of his own penis to that of Sarah Palin's husband.

Watch the season 4 premiere of How I Met Your Mother tonight at 8:30pm, and check back every Monday on BuddyTV for our exclusive video interviews with the cast.
