Amanda Peet has been absent from the small screen since playing Jordan McDeere on Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip. Next year, however, she'll be making her comeback when she guest stars in an episode of How I Met Your Mother.

How I Met Your Mother lead star Neil Patrick Harris told reporters last week that he would love to work with Amanda Peet on the CBS comedy. Days later, her deal was done, proving that the powers-that-be really pays attention to the renowned comedian.
"I really like her," Harris said. "I think that would be fun."
Peet, who is credited for her roles in
Something's Gotta Give and
The Whole Nine Yards, will appear in the
How I Met Your Mother episode entitled "Jenkins" early next year. And according to
Zap2it.com, she'll portray Marshall's (Jason Segel) co-worker.
After playing Kate Cutis in the movie
2012, Peet will next be seen in the comedy
Please Give, which stars Oliver Platt, Rebecca Hall and Kevin Corrigan,
Gulliver's Travels, which hits theaters on December 22, 2010, and
Quantum Quest: A Cassini Space Odyssey, where she provides the voice of Ranger.
