Jesse Spencer as Robert Chase
Robert Chase of FOX's medical drama,
House is played by Jesse Spencer. Chase's father, Rowan, left his family when Chase was just a teenager, forcing him to take care of his alcoholic mother until she died. Chase then grew up to be a cardiologist working at the Department of Diagnostic Medicine at Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital. While working at the hospital, Rowan visited his son, saying that he was in town for a conference. House, with his usual keen observation, noticed that Rowan was lying, and that there really wasn't any conference. Moreover, House deduced that Rowan was suffering from terminal lung cancer. Upon seeing his father, Chase became very disappointed, but offered to buy him a drink nonetheless. Rowan declined the offer and left without telling his son about his ailment. Two months later, Rowan passed away.
Chase was very attracted to Dr. Allison Cameron, who rejected him after he asked her out on a date. During the second season of the show, the two shared a one night stand while Cameron was intoxicated with drugs. The two began a “friends with benefits” relationship in season 3, until Chase asked her if they could take the relationship to the next level. She abruptly rejected his offer and broke off their relationship. Despite her stubbornness and her refusal to reconcile, he began to ask her out every Tuesday, citing that it was the day he felt that he really liked her.
Cameron finally discovered her feelings for Chase, and the two began a relationship. However, he was fired by House after an outburst, and House told him that he has learned enough from him. After leaving his post, Chase filled in as a member of the surgical team at the same hospital. Despite this, he is sometimes recruited by House or his team to work on some certain cases.
